What is a charter school?
A charter
school is a public school of choice. There is no tuition
and is publicly funded. It is a "community school".
Are the teachers qualified?
Teachers
have the same highly qualified requirements that all public
school teachers have.
What makes a charter school different?
Boston
Avenue Charter School has small class sizes as well as a small
school environment.
Students
wear uniforms and receive individual attention. The school
environment is also a healthy, green environment.
What about transportation?
Transportation is provided for
free on Volusia County School busses within a 6 mile radius of the school.
Lunch Program?
School lunch programs are provided at the school
for a cost of $2.40 per day. In addition, we also offer free and reduced
lunches for qualifying students as the same rate as all other Florida Public
Schools. Is there an extended
day program?
Yes. It is a fee based program that is at
the same cost as other Volusia County Public schools. The program also
participates in Child Resource Network funding.
