Boston Avenue Charter School was opened in the 2008-2009 school year. We started the school year with one teacher per grade level and focused on individualizing instruction to meet the needs of each child in our school. As with all good schools, we worked with parents and students to create a dynamic atmosphere where each student felt respected and looked forward to attending school each morning. There are many parents that could tell you their personal experiences with our school. The day to day transformation that many of our students made was remarkable. We strive to provide a learning environment like no other, where each child is recognized for their accomplishments and encouraged to keep working hard to tackle difficult subject areas. Not only do our students receive the encouragement they need to succeed, they also receive the support and guidance from their teacher and peers. Boston Avenue Charter School focus on having a small family environment, offering small class sizes and a personal approach to education. We incorporate technology in our lessons as well as hands on projects. Students participate in a variety of special areas such as physical education, art, music, and horticulture to name a few. Students that attend our school learn a lot about respecting themselves and others, regardless of differences and abilities. We truly are a small town school, where teachers know most of the students. In addition to being a small school, we practice being a healthy green school. Students learn how to recycle and use environmentally friendly resources to clean and disinfect their surroundings. Our cafeteria serves lunched that are very nutritious and offer many fruits and vegetables. For interested parents, please stop by the main office or call to schedule a tour of the school. We look forward to serving you and your child. |
